Dharma thoughts in digital surroundings (Oct 13, 1998).

What can I say? I was tired...

Gut Rub

Scrawny computer geek legs,
big fat lazy-man's gut.
Rubbing that huge happy buddha belly
  for good luck.

Tired eyes see a half-focused world
  with half-caring disdain,
exhausted detachment.
No void, no samsara, no nirvana but a
long, dark drive home way too late.

He sat under a lotus tree and gained enlightenment.
I ponder a pinch of lint and gain a headache.
Will there ever be a digital bodhisatva?
Perhaps an archtype of patience?

I'm just a little fish in the great pond of life.
...and there's a SCSI error in front of me that looks
   suspiciously like a fish hook.

A haiku:
   The SCSI error
waves in my calm inner sea
   no bliss this morning!
